CERTIFICATION OF DATA PROTECTION DELEGATES (DPD)

How to Become a DPD: Requirements and Training

1. Justify a professional experience of at least five years in projects and / or activities and tasks related to the functions of the DPD in the field of data protection.

2. Justify a professional experience of at least three years in projects and / or activities and tasks related to the functions of the DPD in the field of data protection, and a minimum recognized training of 60 hours in relation to the matters included in the Scheme program.

3. Justify a professional experience of at least two years in projects and / or activities and tasks related to the functions of the DPD in the field of data protection, and a minimum recognized training of 100 hours in relation to the matters included in the Scheme program.

4. Justify a recognized minimum training of 180 hours in relation to the subjects included in the program of the Scheme.

It is an essential requirement for obtaining the certificate to pass the exam. The purpose of the exam is to evaluate the theoretical and practical knowledge of an applicant to perform functions of Data Protection Delegate.

The exam includes a test consisting of 150 multiple-choice multiple-choice questions, and it is necessary for their approval to have exceeded 75%. 20% of the questions, that is, 30 questions, will describe a practical scenario (of a normative, organizational and / or technical nature) on which the question will be addressed.

Evaluators

The group of evaluators is constituted by independent professionals of the Scheme with professional training and experience equivalent or superior to the candidate to be certified, with the capacity to evaluate the tests of the evaluation method.

They must guarantee the independence of criteria, issuing a report with the result of the evaluation on which the decision of awarding the certificate to the evaluated candidate is based.

Evaluation criteria

To obtain certification as DPD, candidates must comply with the prerequisites established in section 6.3 and submit the following documentation:
• Application form.
• Detailed curriculum.
• Documentation justifying compliance with the prerequisites.
• Justification of the payment of the corresponding fee.

To each certified person the Certification Entity will assign a non-transferable identification number.

The certificate issued will have a validity period of three years, unless the certified person is sanctioned. The period of validity will start from the date of granting the certificate.

Renewal of Certification

The renewal of the certificate will require the candidate to justify filling in:
A minimum of 60 hours of training received and / or taught during the period of validity of the certificate, requiring an annual minimum of 15 hours in subjects subject to the program of the Scheme, and at least one year of professional experience in projects and / or activities and tasks related to the DPD's functions regarding the protection of personal data and / or information security, evidenced by a third party (employer or similar).
